Shortstat for WP 2.01 and other stat miscellany

One of the reasons I've hesitated to upgrade my main two blogs to WP 2.01 is that I discovered it breaks the current version of Shortstat. But Markus Kämmerer fixed a version that works with WP 2.01.

I've been meaning to post this since last week, but haven't had a chance. We talked a bit about stats for our weblogs at the wedding. I like shortstat, but I've been considering upgrading to Mint. They have some pretty neat Peppers, aka plugins.

I also use Feedburner to track subscribers to my feeds. I've been pretty happy with them. They've also added some neat features and tweaks over the past week or so. I can also see what most people read my feed in, and it manages multiple feeds, which is good, because I have more than two side projects.

I have a copy of analog and awstats installed as well. Shortstat does give me referrers, hits, unique visitors, and search terms at a glance, but it doesn't track bot traffic. I use analog and awstats to track that sort of thing. I also use them if Shortstat shows there's some sort of anomaly in my usage stats.

As far as links go, I do a couple of different things. I have a google blogsearch for each of my domains, and it seems to do the best job as far as tracking new incoming links. I've noticed the dashboard in WP can be a little slow and if a site redirects to a different subdomain for traffic reasons, it fills up your incoming links area. I mostly rely on my google feed and the referrer list in Shortstat.

I am curious to know if anyone uses something different that they happen to like better, so any thoughts?

I also started using Sitemeter, which seems to do a decent job of counting human traffic. It’s also neat to see a visual representation of where my traffic is coming from, as well as the entry + exit pages. They’ve been around for quite awhile, and I think they’re probably one of the better solutions for sites that don’t allow you to install your own stat programs.
