Turns out that Mr. Potato Head hats kind of fit Jack, and actually do fit Murdoc.

Murdoc making himself at home during his first day

November was a pretty irritating month for me. I was sick for pretty much all of it, and managed to come down with a new bug as soon as I was getting over the last one. We did have some really nice fall days that were unseasonably warm, but those had an annoying way of coinciding with me succumbing to a new cold. I guess November wouldn't be complete without discovering I had a cold, a pretty severe sinus infection, and an ear infection that merited a stern lecture from the doctor.

The only slightly amusing thing about it was the warning about when I should go to the emergency. Apparently being inexplicably filled with irrational rage while having a sinus infection means it's decided your brain is more tasty than your sinuses. I've had sinus problems pretty much since I've moved to Virginia, but thankfully, they've never been more than annoying in their staunch refusal to be thwarted by every remedy in the book. The doctor seemed to think surgery might be what I need to keep my sinuses in check.

In other news, I had a birthday and we have a cat now. The cat (Murdoc) is a bit bigger than Jack, and seems to be the alpha dog. He's a lap whore; he prefers Clayton, but if Jack is the only one available, he'll flop down on Jack like he was a throw cushion. Murdoc is the most laid back cat I've ever seen. He gets so relaxed that he'll start drooling. And he even helps put Paul to bed in the evenings.
